At the December workday, the new picnic area in front of the Trading Post was brought nearly to completion. A border and additional gravel was added to the area, and the rotten flower bed that was removed from the side of the building was replaced with a new, wider bed to accommodate plans for a native plant ecology learning area.
The area is still in need of several loads of gravel to finish filling in the border.
Further expansion of the project, pending funding and approval, include lighting, signage, and shade covers.
A huge thank you to James Odom, Chris Pelfrey, and ESC Spectrum, all of whom have donated time, funding, and/or materials to make this project possible.
